Show the number of (all) images / files (and number of subfolders) in the current folder, in status bar. E.g.:
24 object(s) / 1 file selected
(bug found
*) | folder1 |
200 images | 202 files | 4 subfolders
* I think I have already reported this bug, there should be "1 object(s) selected".

As I said, there is "x
file(s) selected" instead of "x
object(s) selected" - also folders can be selected, so "1 file(s) selected" is incorrect then, folder is NOT file. First item - number of all objects - is correct.

I think it would be better to display the term "items", not "objects". This would match the "Are you sure you want to delete these ### items" dialog.

Hello !
… folder is NOT file.
• On principle, you are wrong : A directory¦folder is considered by the system as a file able to contain others…

Yes, but we should distinguish the files and folders and we can't use a definition "file able to contain others" for a folder - it would be too long and also confusing for users, but it's not so important, BTW what about [..] item, this is not a file??
marsh
It has been changed already, "X file(s) selected" is now "X object(s) selected", so it has to be changed everywhere, but I don't know what is better...

Again…
• Technically, “object” is correct in computing… But I would not
object to the use of “Item” which is neuter.
- In French, that doesn't pose any problem, both are understood easily (objet vs. élément)…
