Thumbnail cache folder is present but not recognized ...

... when a picture out of a known folder (existing in the thumbnails cache list) is opened in XnView via the explorer or from other different programs

The picture itself is opend in normal time, but if the button 'next or previous file' is pushed, it took long time for XnView to read the whole folder.

After that time, the switching to next or previous pictures is as fast as normal.

Does XnView not check if there is a existing folder cache? Could this be possible?
This would be great, because it took a long time to read the folder content (about 400 to 700 Pictures in a folder)

Verify browser's sort setting is on 'name', not 'type' or something which requires file to be scanned for information. For me, this improves viewer speed when launching it from another application.

Checked browser sort setting and I had choosed 'sort by type' which was the reason for the long time folder scanning :D

Therefore it seems not to be a bug!

Question: Is it possible to open XnView out of other applications with a parameter for sorting options?

Good that it is faster, herwigv. :) It can launch alternate settings file with switch: "-ini <file>". I haven't read about any similar setting.
