Do not see any way to update/manipulate category items after creation. No way to move categories around i.e. assign children to another parent or move them up or down in hierarchy. It is not always possible to forecast what the hiearchy should be when one is initially setting up the tree so editing the tree after the fact is important.

By the way, where is the category information stored and are the paths absolute or relative to the file location. Meaning if I move the location of the file does that make it useless since the files it is pointing to now have a different path...... Still very new to this software so pls excuse for the questions....

As far as I know - yes, all information lost. One of the reasons that I never started to use this part of XnView. IMHO the whole cat-handling is not up to par with the rest of the program.
