[solved] focus folder panel on current subdirectory

i have multiple subdirectories inside a parent directory.
When i open an image inside one of such subdir and i go in browser mode to see the thumbnails of that subdirectory, i'd like to have the folder panel on my left already focused on the subdir i'm currently watching.

The reason is that if i want to see the thumbnails of the previous of following subdir i have to scroll trough the whole list to reach it... having 1000 subdirectories makes this very annoying.

If instead the folder panel is automatically focused on the current subdirectory, previous and following subdirectories will be already visible on the folder panel and easily reachable with the mouse.

Sorry but i don't understand your request. When you go to the browser, you are already in the folder of the picture...

OK. I will wait for 1.98 :)

by the way i'd like to know if u understand what's this issue is about.

you said:

that's true, however the issue is when you open a file from outside it's folder...
for example if you make a search of a picture with Windows search engine, you click on the picture icon from the search results and XnView opens it but if you click on the browser icon you will see that the folder column is not "focused" on the picture folder but rather on the first folder of the list.

in my case i have collections of radiological images with more than 1000 folders which are cataloged according to pathology name,
so i have folders called "Aortic Aneurysm 01", "Aortic Aneurysm 02", "Aortic Aneurysm 03" etc. etc.

if i'm looking to pictures inside "Aortic Aneurysm 01" it would be very convenient for me to have focus on that folder so i can immediately open and review images in companion folders "Aortic Aneurysm 02", "Aortic Aneurysm 03".... actually i have to scroll down to reach "Aortic Aneurysm 01" folder and then review companion ones.

as i said, having more than 1000 folders at the same level, that focus would be a bless.
thank you for your attention
