Will zip support and thumbnail eps support be added?

The title says it all. I've been using Thumbs Plus and I thought XnView looked like a worthy contender to that program until I discovered it didn't support eps thumbnails or zipped files. Having no eps thumbnails are a particular problem for me because I use quite a bit of eps clipart, and I also produce eps graphics myself. It would be nice is one of your conversion options was to turn RGB graphics into CMYK, which is needed if the pictures are do be used in documents for offset (and some digital) printing. Sure I can do it in Photoshop, but not everyone has Photoshop. And few other graphics programs convert to CMYK.

My only other beef about what is otherwise shaping up to be a good program is that XnView has crashed several times since I installed it this morning. I suspect it will remain unstable until I reboot Windows.

:) Hello ! Welcome aboard !

• Prior please, you might start one thread per topic, according to the forum rules… 8)

• Common ZIP - RAR - SQX archives are supported, there are libraries for in the <AddOn> folder.
- I assume that you could have some ZIP made by a recent WinZip using the LZMA compression,
those are not supported yet, AFAIK…

• Info about your OS and hardware are welcome too ;)

I'm not using a new zip format - the graphics I tried it with were zipped up in 1998. These zipfiles still open today with my current Winzip, and Thumbs Plus opens them as well. XnView says: 'Format of the file [filename] could not be determined.'

To be honest, the lack of thumbnail support for EPS files is more of a problem for me, but it seems I have to make a separate posting about that in order to get your comment.

ZIP in Browser…

:) Again…

• This error message is indeed displayed when you try to open the ZIP directly in XnView (whatever way, D&D or a button in a file manager, etc. …), that isn't planned…
• You can get the thumb nail for the ZIP, then those of the images it contains and their previews
by opening its folder in the Browser. Of course, same with all supported archives.
