If you use screen capturing often, I recommend to look for a tool which really covers your needs. There are very good programs out there, some of them may cost some bucks but it's worth the money if you use it more often.

Some "advertisement":
Personally I've tried a bunch of tools, including HyperSnap, SnagIt, and many more. The one which was slim and covered my needs best was SmartCapture (http://www.desksoft.com). It's worth a trial, but not freeware.

MWSnap is a very nice one, indeed. Small download size (644 Kb), capturing of rectangles, menus, ... And additional features like a ruler, adding a frame, magnifying glass when capturing, default sizes, multi-language. Very good.

Thank you for pointing to that one, John!

Thank you for your hint.
Still have to have a look at it. The description sounds interesting and promising (luckiliy there is a "English language" button on the left side of the webpage).
