Self introduction

As I see, there's no specific board for self-introduction of new members, but I appreciate self introduction of new members into the forums where I'm am admin, so here I am.
I'm not a programmer, but I like programming a bit from some decades (my first experiences were in 1975-76...) . Presently I appreciate a lot python, even if I use it at a very low level. I'm working into wiki projects, mainly into wikisource, where some batch conversion on pdf, tiff, jpg and djvu files is needed. Nconvert can solve many issues, as I see from a test, successful multipage tiff->jpeg->djvu conversion I tried as soon as I downloaded Nconvert after some furious browsing of this forum.
Help into Nconvert is a little hard to understand, but I hope that merging it with forum's content will solve most of troubles. Thanks for your work and for this forum.

Welcome to the XnView foroum, phoenix66. It's a good idea to peek around, first, the
FAQ forum is of good use. If you should have a specific question which you cannot find an answer for, don't hesitate to post in the specific XnView forum. Best regards, Helmut

Outside of work, I enjoy hiking, biking, and exploring new cities with my wife and two children. I'm also an avid reader and enjoy staying up-to-date with the latest advancements in engineering and technology.
Overall, I'm passionate about engineering

Hi, I am new here since yesterday and I registered on the French page.
I took my retirement as the occasion, to register and organize all my photos and the biggest part is done (scanning all slides and all negatives and register them with a name in the same shape for all). The most of the organisation is done as well, but I wanted to register also: locations, peoples who are on the pics, occasions, a.s.o. - which made me discover the "Mètadonnées" (in french). I registered them all and than I run into something strange: There are 20.000 photos and 19.990 show the four lines on the "vignette" under the preview, but for the last 10 it is impossible to show the creation-date - the line stays empty.
So this is the reason, why I am here.
Sorry, that I am not a computer-specialist (when I read some of the notifications here, I understand hardly a word - not because of my English, but because of all the "special-words" which are used and which I never have heard!
I like the way, how this forum is built up, but to find, what you are looking for in the FAQ it is nearly impossible, as in all forums, I have visited.
Perhaps the way I ask my questions are different and no program can understand it....
I am already happy to find you all!
Best regards from Paris

Thank you very much - it was great help - to think in the right way!
I hope, I will not need it again, since I practice "self-learning" on nearly all soft and hard ware since I started with computers in 1987. And I started with "DOS 3.2" - windows just made its first steps and computers were very slow....
Good luck to all of you,
Greatings from Paris,
