Lens info from Exif please

Hi
I need the lens model from the Exif data, i use canon and nikon cameras, but maybe from others manufacturers could be cool.
For a powershot G3 the zoombrowser program shows "Lens - 7.2-28.8"
For a XTi the zoombrowser program shows "Lens - EF-S 17-85mm f/4-5.6 IS USM"
