Hi everybody,
Whenever I resize a number of pics say 20 or more, I get a crash: xnview has encountered a problem and must close yada yada. I have seen this in 1.95.4 and in 1.96. dont remember seeing this in 1.93 or whatever it was I had prior to that. after restarting the batch seems to have worked on all of the files so... what causes it to crash?
I'm running an amd 5200x-2 64bit with win xp sp2, 4gb ram, evga 8600gts 256mb ddr3 video. have replaced ini file with default with same results.

Thanks for your help,
Jiminid

If you convert less than 20 files, no problem?

Sorry about the hiatus, but have been traveling.
Thanks Pierre,
Yes, there doesnt seem to be a problem with less than approximately 20 files, I will make an exact count
on the next crash. It happens almost every time I resize a batch or flip horizontal & rename a large batch of files.

Thanks again for your help.
Am going to install 1.96.1 to see if there is any change.

8)

(edit) no change with 1.96.1, 17 pics batch resize no crash, 25 pics batch resize, crash. error message says: Appname xnview apver 1.96.0.0 modname xnview.exe modver 1.96.0.0 offset 0006fcdb
also says it creates a report file in the temp folder but i cant find it. Hope this helps.

:(

(edit2) did not crash with 25 images batch enhance detail or batch rename and flip horizontal.

Could you send me a file sample? and perhaps the xbs script?

Hi,
I don't know why but the crashing has stopped after I installed xp sp3. I have no idea why but everything seems to be working fine, now.
Also using Avast and Threatfire instead of AVG. Disabled Rocketdock and/or Objectdock when in xnview. All I can think of that was changed.
Thanks for your help.
