You might be interested in following this 'geo' feature in XnView MP: (from topic, Some new screenshots)
and showing the location is great. Sadly, it is still in early stage and lacks too much functionality for my use case, e.g. the map delay is too high (is >20sek!), I can't set the default zoom level, show multiple files at once, use Google Maps Terrain, change the location on the map, use Microsoft Bird View,...
