Shell Extension problem on NT4

I've been using same xnview versions on Windows 2000 and XP and never had any problems (thank you, "xnview"!).
The only problem is the same one over and over again on my old NT4 laptop, regardless of xnview's version.

This is my third time (third version) that I try to use xnview on NT4 in past 2 years, and again I have same problem with display as in the picture:

As you can see, only part of xnview's content menu is not readable, submenus are fine and the "top" part with thumbnail displays text OK too.

Either I miss some .DLLs or something, or it is xnview's bug, I don't know - hence my post.

Please advise.

:) Hello !

• Like you assume above, I guess that NT4 doesn't contain the needed stuff,
probably Pierre could confirm, and I think that it's almost impossible to fix easily… :|

Hello Clo/Claude, and thx for reply :)

I'm not a programmer, I can write batch scripts ;) but IMO this bug is not related to NT4 itself, but rather to some coding part in XnView. As you can see in my screenshot, the submenu is being displayed correctly.
If it were due to NT's own inherited bug (or obsolence/outdated DLL or whatever), I think that both the entire menu and submenu wouldn't display correctly at all. Yet, since part of menu and submenu *is* displayed correctly, so logically thinking it is most likely related to the XnView's Shell Extension code (or part of, since when selected to show with submenus the submenu is fine - and what about "image description" below thumbnail - the filename and filesize - which are being displayed correctly in all versions of xnview I have ever used since begining? If it were due to "NT's bug or lack of something" it wouldn't display either... no, I'm almost sure the root of this problem on NT4 is in the code of xnview shell extension, probably Pierre took some different approach when he wrote shell extension...)

Yes, I hope Pierre can find little bit of his time to look into it.
I know NT4 is not very popular OS (or should I say: it is basically extinct and "obsolete" OS ;) ) but I hope - in spite of what it may seem like waste of time - that Pierre could fix such annoying bug for such an "obsolete" OS :)

Allo, Pierre ;) Corriger cet :bug: , s'il vous plait!
