So it would allow me to convert the BLP to BMP but now I want to convert it back I can not find BLP on the list of options. Can I not change it back or am I over looking something. Thank you.

Sorry blp reading is only supported, see official list of formats supported by XnView or menu 'Info > Supported Formats' in XnView.
