Scan Problems

Using Version 1.96.1, I have several problems:
This problem ocurs if Grayscale is selected
1. Image is not put in the selected folder.
2. JPG format is selected but image is saved as .BMP always with the name AallDlstop.bmp
Aalldls is the folder the image is supposed to go in but it's always stored in the C: Root
3. Paint shop Pro v6 will not open image. Error message states invalid bmp file.
The scan works correctly if Color picture is selected.
Paint however will open the BMP file.
I have no problem opening other bmp files in PSP
I reinstalled the printer driver to see if that would solve the problem it did not.
