XnView Software

If I open Xnview and open a PPS file my friend gets a message

Format of the file "name of file" could not be determined

My friend has this problem on Windows XP SP2

I tried it with the same file, I carried it on a USB memory stick to his house
just to test and it fails on his computer, does not fail on my WINXP SP3


Any thoughts or setting adjustments?

.PPS is file extension for Microsoft's Powerpoint, right?

Did you try Microsoft Office to open it?

Opens every time with the Power Point Viewer just fine.
In fact the default is the PPT viewer and double clicking works.

Just that starting xnview and going after the file fails.

Xnview does not know what to do with it.
