Video Thumbnail Frame Percentage

Hi, I've been using XnView for a long time now. However beginning of the year I went to Linux, but now I'm back on XP. I have reinstalled XnView (how I missed it), however I thought there was an option to specify the percentage for when the thumbnail will appear for video files?
I've edited the xnview.ini file with the entry VideoFramePercent=50 - but it doesn't make a difference. And I've looked in the options. Is it just me or this option does not exist?
Thank you,

If you use the thumbnail cache, you need to rebuild the thumbnails to see the effect. To do so just right-click a thumbnail and select 'Rebuild thumbnails' from the menu.
VideoFramePercent is ui-less setting and it doesn't exist by default, so you need to create it manually in the [Browser] section.

Thanks for replying.
I tried your suggestions however it is not working. The videos still rebuild to 10% of the video.
Perhaps this string no longer works?

Hello !
I tried your suggestions however it is not working. The videos still rebuild to 10% of the video. …
• It seems that you are right : I tested it with a single short video in an empty folder as :
VideoFramePercent=50
to be sure that the difference will be obvious, but it doesn't work,
only the 10%-image is shown as the thumb nail like you said…
… Perhaps this string no longer works?
• Obviously, it's broken

Works here. When I use VideoFramePercent=50 the thumbnail is exactly from the middle of the video.
Clo what video format you used when testing? Maybe VideoFramePercent doesn't work with all formats.

Hello !
• I used the file :
GSM_Vibreur.wmv 560 266 (bytes) 11/07/2009 09:28 -a--
thus a very common video type…
BTW : What's the state of the other entry
VideoFrame= ? @ your's ? Here it's
“1”…
EDIT : I tried with
VideoFrame=0, that doesn't work either…

- I added an *.AVI, same mess…

I tested with five different video types, and the two states of VideoFrame, that doesn't work here either…

*head scratch* Works here with clean ini. And it works regardless of VideoFrame state (which actually makes sense, because VideoFrame effect on preview not on thumbnails).

Again…
*head scratch* Works here with clean ini. …
• Head scratching here too… I tested a fresh INI, just set the INI location in the XnView folder
and added
VideoFramePercent=50 … restarted …
…
nope ! Impossible to get the 50%-image as the thumb nail !
- I think that
Pierre might check these codes, maybe something is different in the last 1.96… versions ?

ffdshow wouldn't have anything to do with it would it?
The PS3 Media Server (software to stream over to the PS3) has an option where you can specify the time of where the thumbnail is taken from in seconds. This works so I don't think it is the video files.

I tested XnView 1.96.2 with two other computers, one with Windows Vista and other with XP, and VideoFramePercent worked on both systems. I can not figure out why it's not working with you guys.

I doubt, but non of the systems I tested has ffdshow installed.
