				Since i've installes version 1.96.2 the vertical layout in preview pane doesn't show any properties, exif, histogram etc.
I have tried every layout in the view menu. My favorite here is the 7th layout, but without vertical layout...
I have installed and deinstalled several other programs, so maybe it is not the new version of XnView. Maybe there is something else corrupted (in the registry?). So I have deinstalled and installed XnView again with the same result.
Is there a bug in the new version? Or is there a corrupted (ini-)file or registry entry?

				You should see a tiny arrow-switch on divider below image.

or change in configuration file:
[Browser]
VHidePanel=2
to
[Browser]
VHidePanel=1

				No, there is no there is no arrow-switch in vertical layout, only in horizontal layout. In previous versions I often worked with this arrow-switch, but now it is gone.
After searching a while I found the configuration file on my Vista-Laptop in user\appdata\local\virtualstore\program files\xnview.
In my config file was VHidePanel=0
I have tried to change it to VHidePanel=1
After starting XnView there was no effect.
Now I changed it to VHidePanel=2
After starting XnView I found the arrow-switch, but as I clicked it, the arrow-switch disappeared an no additional infos where shown.
In the config file I found again VHidePanel=0
A bit confusing, isn't it?

sadly

 Hello !
• Just a thought : Maybe could you copy your <
xnview.ini> file into the XnView folder, then set it in
Options >> System Integration >> XnView in the dropdown list ?
- Then see whether the right flag remains…

				Thanks, Claude,
i have tried it, but that's not the solution, sorry. The entry resets to VHidePanel=2 wherever I save the XnView.ini.
Maybe it's the mistery of Bill Gates.

Very. Just a guess: maybe none of your settings are being saved. If so, some quick things to look for:
>Running as admin vs. user.
>Configuration file accidentally made read-only.
>More than one settings file on HD.

In all previous versions I never had this problem.
