• Works (not animated) in
Universal Viewer (correct transparent background)
• Works (animated) in
Imagine (but the BG transparency isn't rendered, the BG is black) (Total Commander Lister plug-in).
… and of course, crashes similarly when using the Lister with the XnView call…

In XnView v1.97 beta 1 & 2 the animation is played back just fine, but when I'm clicking on Previous page/Next page all frames are displayed as black rectangles.

Yeah, that happens with all indexed (mode 3) APNGs. Instead of using palette, individual frames displayed in grayscale.
