[Fixed] RC1/2: Copying/Moving Folder doesn't work

"Added : Folder can be Copied/Moved" - it doesn't work - I tried Ctrl+X/C/V and the context menu.

Also "Paste" is missing in the context menu if it is used in empty space, e.g. create new folder, go inside it and do RMB click.

Another minor sugg. - Add F7 next to New Folder in the context menu.

And couldn't you add it? I really miss this feature :( - I must switch to another program, do it and return to xnview...

You have "Copy to" & "Move to" too, it's not good??

It's not enough for me - I don't like the folder tree, I'm using arrows, enter and Ctrl+X/C/V all the time.

I'm also using Alt+left/right in my file manager to move back and forward as in internet browsers, it's very easy and fast (I can use also my mouse, 4th button+scroll for that), it would be nice to have it also in xnview (I guess it was requested before).

And I also found a bug :bug: - Alt+M doesn't work with folders (Alt+C works good).

Pierre, if you can, say what you think please.

At least try to fix a bug above.

I know you are busy, but this is very important for me (not a bug, but Ctrl+X/C/V for folders).

Thanks.

you are all aware that we currently try to make XnView do everything MS Explorer does (and hopefully a lot more). This is a good idea, since handling of files and handling of images is basically the same thing.
Yet, XnView is XnView and not MS Explorer for images. Just wanted to make you aware of this, nothing more.

Helmut,

OK, I just wonder that xnview can do so many advanced operations and cannot do so "basic" operation (copy and move folders).

Anyway I know Pierre is trying to solve it / fix it and I don't know how easy or hard it is, but I believe he will do all he can...

XnView should be able to manage images, files, and folders, and do this well. So your desire for Cut/Copy/Paste is good and important, and should be really supported in one of the next releases or even in 1.80.

But with each enhancement we should ask whether this is really XnView's business. E.g. XnView should for example never offer the functionality to establish connections to network drives.

I think "copy/move folders" (with Ctrl+X/C/V and the context menu) is a standard and basic option, so it is XnView's business  .

Maybe it could be even a bug :bug: - if I use the context menu > copy (or cut) on folder and try to past, it is not possible.

Ok, i've added it. But please make many test to check if there is no problem with folders (drag&drop, ALT+C/M, CTRL+X/C/V)...

CTRL+X/C/V works great (tested CTRL+X/C/V, context menu, menu, empty folders...)

ALT+C works good, but ALT+M still doesn't work (with folders only, not important to me, since I have CTRL+X/C/V  but probably a bug :bug: )

Yes alt+M now works with folders. Dreamer, you confirm?
