1. Copy thumbnails to same directory.
2. These copies appear in thumbnail view.
3. Rotate copies of images 90°
4. *Miniatures disappear from thumbnail listing. They reappear by refreshing folder.

I can't reproduce, are you able to reproduce it always? Lossless rotation?

Always. Pressing rotate button in main/browser window. thumbnails + labels (no labels chosen). [x] use lossless if possible.

Confirmed on WinXP SP3.

To reproduce:

1. Customize the Browser toolbar to display an image rotation button.
2. Show thumbs in the browser
3. Select an image
4. Click a rotation button
5. Thumbnail cartouche disappears
6. Navigate out of folder
7. Navigate into folder
8. Observe that missing thumb cartouche reappears, but with original (un-rotated) thumb image
9. View the file
10. Observe that file has been rotated.
12. Close the view and return to the browser
13. Select the same thumb
14. Perform View->Rebuild thumbs
15. Thumb cartouche for the selected file disappears
16. Navigate out of folder
17. Navigate into folder
18. Observe that missing thumb cartouche reappears, but still with original (un-rotated) thumb image

Today I can't get the toolbar buttons for rotation to come "alive" (become clickable) at all, so I cannot test this specific issue. Sorry. MP is still a little confused about many things.

Yes. The buttons are greyed.

I have restarted MP several times, but to no avail. Notice in the image below that the 180 button is "alive".

You will notice another anomaly in the image: no thumbnail!!! That is a new error I haven't encountered before.

Part 1: Problem is that 'autorefresh' setting isn't found in ini, unless added manually.
[browser]
EnableAutoRefresh=1

After it is added, it is possible to see updated miniature only if:

Part2: All Others files is marked [x][x][x]

Silly me! :(

Still, if the file doesn't exist, then that thumb cartouche should not appear either. Otherwise there is confusion.

Ok, I shouldn't have tried guessing about features that way. With everything marked, except "all other files", rotated jpeg loses its image and becomes an icon.
