In Browser, show a folder with JPEGs, click on a file. Next to preview, the tabs Properties, Exif etc are shown. Click preview tab. Click into white space between thumbs, hold mouse button and select several files. Click on one of them and the tabs in preview pane are gone.

Click another image and everything is fine again. 100% reproducible on Win XP.

Not 1.96b2 but 1.97b2

Do you have the same thing in 1.96?

Yes, you're right with the version number

Yes, same bug in XnView1.96.5 but not with all images, just some, like for example http://yfrog.com/j820091106googlemapssatfoj (create some copies in a directory)
