Please enable Favorites tree like 1.9x

I really miss the expandable folder trees in the MP Favorites sidebar.
In 1.9x it convenient to define various favorite "root folders" and use them instead of the entire folder tree.
Please include the behavior in MP, also.

Pierre,
1. In 0.26, the Favourites is not working for
ONE single folder added as it doesn't respond when I click on it. It only suddenly starts working if I either add more than one folder to the favourites or if that same single folder aforementioned has subfolders allowing me to expand (expanded sub-folders are working). In those two scenarios it works. I think this may have been bug reported already.
2. For 'Favourites', in a next beta's after 0.26, you need to make the cursor change to a 'click hand' like in xnview 1.9xx for when clicking on an item in the 'favourites'. I think you could add 'underlining' back again for XnMP Favourties to show that they are clickable. XnView 1.9xx does all this:
I think these two things can easily be addressed

And the 'hand/finger' cursor should be added for when clicking an item on the Folder Tree pane too

Actually my mistake it's fine the way it is since the non-hand cursor is normal on Vista/7 , sorry it was my mistake

I still think this is bizarre (and that favourites should strictly be bookmarks, not to be confused with folders).
If bookmarking individual images is ever accommodated, how would these appear along with them?
This looks like a mess to me:
1. c:\folder\<e x p a n d
2. c:\folder2\image.jpg
3. c:\folder3\<e x p a n d
Concern: apprehension created over removing an item which doesn't look like a bookmark.

I tend to agree with Marsh. A named category "favorite images" offers the same functionality, IMO.

That's a good concern marsh,
yes, how would expandable folders and individual bookmarked image display together?
I propose either these two;
1. A vertical separator for the Favourites window (like in a dual-pane file manager).
OR
2. Make all items in the favourites window as Categories so that they expand - with the ability to hide, delete, rename and make new categories
Code: Select all
Folders <e x p a n d
Image files <e x p a n d
Audio files <e x p a n d
Video files <e x p a n d
Other files <e x p a n d
The 'Folders' category can be a fixed 'Favourites' category whereas the image,audio,video and other categories can be removed by user choice for if the user wants all the files to be non sorted and displayed in one great mixed display below the Folders category. This idea stems from this Opera bookmarks;

Remember my ideas for the 'Favourites' enhancements of this thread -

I'm not sure bookmarks expanding into folders belong. Multi-platform version should not look too out-of-place on desktops such as Xfce, IMO. In this environment, the screenshot below is a common arrangement. Where a file manager's sidebar can be switched between: 1. Shortcuts or 2. Tree.

If there is need to have categories sharing same space as favourites, I'd suggest an import tool. [x]Create categories from favourites
