I can just drag and drop towards other apps from Xnview-Explorer but not from the picture view !
Who uses the function Make selection of left button and move picture of the rightbutton ? Hardly anyone, then it is essential to be able to drag and drop the displayed image towards other applications without using the xnview-explorer. This function should have been implemented long ago.

I don't understand your frustration.
Do you mean drag&drop image from this view (below) into another app, like say for example into Adobe Photoshop?

(the picture I posted here is something I made and doesn't exist)
if so, I know that Firefox can does this. Seems possible except Xnview would have to draw a larger transparent drag image depending on the size of the window and for higher resolution images this may crash Xnview or cause unnecessary problems like temp space
If I was wrong then please disregard what I commented on above, I was trying to help. Although, personally i don't support this suggestion.

That's it, except there is no need for transparency of the image at full resolution, a thumnail or a simple icon is enough.
It is an essential function when looking for textures or pictures.
Thx budz45 for your picture.
Best regards,
Léon

But how to know if the user want to make a drag&drop or a selection in the picture?

such as holding down a hotkey (
Shift -would be nice) while dragging with mouse. Holding down shift or a another modifier hotkey could make sure the drag n drop can happen
yeah I can now say I support this feature to be added but only if it doesn't infringe on the rest of xnview/xnview mp. This is totally at the discretion of the developer, Pierre

Thank you too for confirming that my speculation was the correct

I like creating mock-up illusions of wishful features which really strengthen communicating an idea.
yes I would agree on a mini thumbnail and drag icon too (but still with some partial transparency)
