XnView Software

Since I upgraded to Windows 7 x64, 1.96.5 crashes when opening thumbnails in XnView browser. Only happens each first time I use XnView after a reboot. Doesn't happen anymore after the first crash until I reboot. Can this be fixed in 1.97?

Do you have tried to change the folder where XnView starts?

it starts on my 2nd hard drive in a custom folder. i always start it in that folder. this didn't happen back on xp, only on windows 7 now.

Only picture files?

im my xnview settings, i set it to only open image files and they go directly to view in fullscreen. perhaps the view in fullscreen is whats causing the crash in windows 7?

Some users use it on Windows 7 without problem... Could you try to disabled 'Read ahead'?

i tried turning off read ahead but the problem still happens. i also upgraded to 1.97. i did more testing and it only happens when i use the middle mouse button to click on thumbnails to view image fullscreen. doesn't happen when i double click. so this may be related to the middle mouse function for opening images.

btw: i also noticed that the middle mouse button was a bit buggy back on xp. sometimes, middle clicking on an image won't load it. so i would have to deselect it and try middle clicking again. this bug might be related.

You have only a crash with middle button?
