Does Ghostscript still need to be installed for XnView 1.8 to display PDF files or is it possible to display PDF thumbnails without it being installed ?

I think that Ghostscript is still needed. At least I cannot find an entry in the list of enhancements and changes for XnView 1.80, and this would be a change worth while listing.Danny wrote:Ghostscript is not needed but it only seems to display the very first page - if that is of any concern to you.
Yes, sometimes people should simply try out. But not in this case: Installing and deinstalling software is asked a bit too much. When uninstalling, you're often not sure whether deinstallation fully worked or not.Danny wrote:Btw. - you could have just tried it out, no?
PDFs work if right kind of Ghostscript is used. AFPL version works. GPL version does not.Olive wrote:I'm not sure what I'm doing wrong, but Ghostcript is installed and still I can't display PDFs :/
