Find similar files hangs if a large set of images is used

I am using WinXP SP3 with 4Gb RAM (3,25Gb useable due to O.S. being 32 bits).
I forgot to say I am using XnView 1.97
When comparing a folder with 69.000+ JPEG images, XnView crashes to desktop after a while.
