Missing tab in preview pane of layout #3

This is how my installation of XnView v1.97.0 looks like:
I've got tabs for
Properties,
Histogram,
EXIF,
IPTC,
XMP and
Categories, but the tab for
Preview — as seen in the screenshots below — is missing.

Maybe I misunderstood
but why shall you have a preview tab when preview is always shown left of the tabs?? When you press the small triangle/arrow right of the preview in the first screenshow, the tab "preview" shall become available to make a preview accessible - just like in the second screenshot... Cheers, Georg

I don't understand. You would like to have the preview as a Tab, right??

Today I was able to narrow the problem down to a single INI entry:
Code: Select all
[Browser]
Layout=3
ShowPreview=1
VHidePanel=2
As it turns out, there has been a similar report before:
vertical layout in preview pane without tabs (EXIF, etc.)
Pierre, which setting in
Tools »
Options... is responsible for changing
VHidePanel=0|1|2?

It's only 0|1, and it's when you use the little blue arrow

Starting with a clean INI, I was able to reproduce a value of
2 for
VHidePanel.
- VHidePanel=0 vs. VHidePanel=0 + Use tabs:
- VHidePanel=1 vs. VHidePanel=2:
This observation may not be important, so I've moved this topic from “Bug Reports” to “General Support”.
