RC4: Lite fullscreen - slight delay between pics

When I am in lite fullscreen and I have Read one image ahead and Keep current image in cache enabled, there is still a slight (~0,15s) delay when switching images. Is this usual? In ACDSee for instance there is no such delay.

The pics are small (~50KB) 800x600 16M JPGs.

TIA

After some testing, I think "Read one image ahead" and "Keep current image in cache" doesn't work in lite fullscreen.

Delay between pics? The Expanded Preview mode just displays one image.
No navigation is possible in this mode. <page down> does not work. This
function is invoked from 'Dbl Click to enter fullscreen' option. If you're
navigating multiple pics, aren't you really using traditional fullscreen?
Increasing gamma settings will temporarily let users know which mode they are
in, since gamma doesn't apply to this mode for now.

Excuse moi? It seems to work with multiple images here.
Increasing gamma settings will temporarily let users know which mode they are in, since gamma doesn't apply to this mode for now.
The right-click menu, too, since it is reduced in the lite fullscreen mode, AFAIK.

Try to switch large images in standard and lite fullscreen.

I can confirm that.

Yes, I confirm, the delay exists only in lite fullscreen mode.

Generally, is anyone finding any speed advantages using FullPreview mode? Such as faster decoding of large images with differing quality settings. I'm not seeing any speed advantages even at 'Low Quality' preview.

To be quite honest, I don't see the point of this feature at all.
Enabling it, simply disables the View mode in XnView.

Well in all fairness I'll have to agree with you guys. Not only I hardly see any improvement in speed, but middle-clicking will bring back the browser instead of the viewer's toolbar (identical to double-click, then redundant)

Yes it's confusing, there is another topic about it, please add your comments there - RC1: Lite Fullscreen Mode (see my idea from Thu May 19, 2005 22:42).

Helmut, I hope it's OK, I don't want to reply here... Maybe you could move these 2 (or more) posts there.

Currently fullscreen from browser mode doesn't support Read ahead/Cache behind.

xnview,
Currently fullscreen from browser mode doesn't support Read ahead/Cache behind.
And will it?

Please add this feature. This would make lite fullscreen as usable as normal fullscreen for viewing images and at the same time speed up Preview in Browser, which mainly affects the new Filmstrip mode (layout 6).
