cbr files

Does XnView work for .cbr formats? If so, how do I make it? I tried to open one with XnView and it will show a thumbnail, but will not actually open the file.

Also, I've tried checking off "Display all image file types" under Options -->General. In fact the "Warning" message I get that says that the "Format of the file <filename.cbr> cannot be determined" tells me to do that, i.e., to check off "Display all image file types." STILL only shows a thumbnail without opening the file. (It's a comic book file. I can see the cover in the thumbnail but can't open the file to read it).

Finally, Pierre-e Gougelet, (<-- removed* -->), sent me a link and a message saying: "To be able to read abr file, you need the rar plugin http://www.xnview.com/download/addons/archive.zip" (I assume that "abr" was a typo and that he meant cbr since we corresponded twice about this -- the first time he told me to "check off Display all image file types" which, as noted above, I had already done). So I tried the link, downloaded the plug-in and first of all, XnView could not open the plugin, (same message as when trying to open a cbr file, i.e., "Format of the file <filename.cbr> cannot be determined" and telling me to "check off Display all image file types"). So I opened it with WinRAR and extracted it to the XnView folder, but cannot get any of the .exe files in the download to open and it does not appear to be automatically working when I open XnView, since I'm still unable to open a cbr file and still get the same message.

I know I can use another image viewer, but I'd like to use XnView, (because I understand it has a better/more comprehensive zoom feature than say CDisplay or CDisplayEx). In Wikipedia .cbr files are one of the types specifically named in the section that says what file types are supported by XnView.

So, anyone have an answer?

Just tried it at your suggestion. Thanks for that by the way. But no luck. Same thing.

I don't have any problems viewing bozo.cbr & bozo.cbz with XnView v1.97.2 :?
