Since 2001 'til now I have been using ACDsee 32 v 3.x just because no other program had same speed, well designed and intuitive user interface, plus, support for <descript.ion> files.
Time goes by and you need support for newer file types and options, that's where xnview came in.
I have some suggestions for the author (and will buy the program) if:
- Enable default fullscreen view, as an option, when opening an image from browser
- Allow customizing of hotkeys/keyboard shortcuts: for example in AcDsee I could simply change file view in the browser selecting F8 (thumbs view) and F12 (detailed view). Powerful, and missing a lot this.
- Allow as an option in the browser, to show upper level directory in the file list as ".."; Very powerful, you can just use arrows and enter key to navigate up and down folders

I think you can change behaviour using
HotkeyP, but I've never tried myself. Dreamer is our hotkey specialist and can tell.

I've tried the suggested option but XnView still "opens" the image not in fullscreen, view...

One point here: when using "embedded thumbs", you gain speed, but rotated jpegs are shown unrotated; if yous disable this, and let XV to rebuild thumbs, orientation is correct but thumbs creation gets very slow on RAW/NEFs...

What if you want to use the keyboard, without pressing F11? So simple, the author should consider this option....
