Request: Show Viewer on startup (as an option)

hi again,

Maybe I should make this request in the 'Suggestions' forum:

I would like an option in Options>General>General to launch XnView MP in 'Viewer' mode when I click on the xnview.exe, giving an option would be great because when you eventually support UI file drag & drop I am would like to just start drag & dropping files and viewing in a file list from there.

I created this to show what I mean: :)

Perhaps simply on option to start or not the brower for an empty window?

Yes an option for empty blank canvas 'Viewer' window like in Irfanview here; http://i42.tinypic.com/20z1ukw.png

I also created just created this mock-up:
the tab is blank and has a tab title message "<no file>" or maybe you think there should be nothing on the tab

It's just an idea :)

• Yes, of course, but I think that such an option like budz45 shows it above is clear, well-located and unambiguous…
- With the current option I'm using, I get even so the browser, that I don't wish…
- About an empty default tab : I'm not sure that it's this needed… I would open i.e. a “Recent” file
(when the menu items work ! :P ) then the corresponding tab will appear.

Thanks Clo for agreeing

What about 3 options in total:
= (Pierre) - MP with No Tabs
= (budz45) - MP with just the 'viewer' tab shown
= Normal - 'browser' tab only

....Or with your "without tabs" would I still be able to drag n drop an image and it open in viewer (when drag n drop is later supported)?

OK your right, sorry my apologies..... Yes just the 2 options:
= (Pierre) - MP with No Tabs
= Normal - 'browser' tab only
:)

So in a future release when drag n drop to viewer is supported in MP I will be able to drag n drop to the blank interface (no tabs) and they open in viewer? It should be so am I correct?

Thank you so much for this feature. It's so artistic to use; open blank interface and drag&drop anything to go... 8)

Thank you so much, feature/fix added :)

Much thanks Pierre.
