Settings: Load/Backup a 'copy' of the settings

hello again,

XnView already conveniently stores it's settings in a localised INI file. Great

What I like under another app, XYplorer, is the way it can Save/Load it's configuration via a menu choice under the File.
Image
I would like this same choice under File for a future XnView MP. I'm lazy to go into any XnView folder (sometimes in a long folder path) and manually copy/backup. XYplorer when Loading a config from another INI, will read and copy the data from the other INI (not simply copy+replace the INI) and would show the user a message to show that the new data has been added before automatically restarting the application to use the new changes. This method is better in it's approach for various reasons and should be incorporated in a future XnView MP too.

Additionally it would be nice if there was a backup option for a 'schedule' that could occur as a brisk background process and a user could choose a folder destination for where the backup is stored. Add to that, support for archives ZIP/Rar too.
--------
So under the File menu in XnView it should look like:

File>Settings>

*Load settings... ---> would initiate a 'Open' window for a user locates "xnview.ini"
*Backup settings... ---> would initiate a 'Open' window for a user to save a copy of "xnview.ini"
*Backup Method and Schedules... ---> would link directly and open a choice in XnView MP's "Options>Integration>Backup" window for scheduling settings backups (time/day/week/month) and backup methods (plain INI or as archive zip/rar)

I propose a new tab under Options>Integration called Backup:
ImageAlso consider this feature request for more other things that could be backed up along with "xnview.ini". In Shelltoys, which I love and use, a DAT file, which stores desktop icon positions is also included in the backup archive. I also like how Shelltoys backs-up it's archives with the showing of a progress bar in it's 'export'. So this request is considerable when it comes to other future items in xnview that could be included in the backup archive.

So just like we have 'Presets:' in various MP window menu's, perhaps, maybe we could have the same for the Settings>Integration>(save settings) - but instead of 'presets' obviously it would be named as 'Load/backup:'

And this would be useful for loading/backup of multiple different setting configurations of XnView MP.

Hello,

Bien à vous

1) There is already the tool "Disposition" very useful :!:

It could be supplemented to save all the parameters chosen to achieve a kind of work!

2) To avoid multiple tabs, there may be to close the settings window, a confirmation with the option to save the file. Ini before modification (Do you want to keep your old settings to be restored later?)

Yours

Well no,

I was thinking of a Load/Backup ini feature to be added in the Settings>Integration because the reason is currently every time a new MP beta is released and I copy my previous MP ini file to the new MP program folder I ntoice that there are some conflicts in some settings (few) not enabled/set as they should in the latest MP build that I am testing and I find it frustrating.

My guess is that there are certain entries written in the ini file which dicate which MP build is which. Furthermore if features are added or changed slightly in the program's coding in a latest MP beta then this tends to affect the settings in my ini file. Also hotkey settings don't seem to get saved in the ini file too.

A Load/Backup settings feature would solve all of this.. I believe.

EDIT-

Idea: The settings .ini, .bar, .keys etc (except Database) could all get backed up to a ZIP

=Drag&Drop of previous XnView MP version .ini to a new MP version(Drag&Drop to Settings window)
=Would you like to apply loaded settings -yes/no
=Please restart XnView
