Images not shown as Thumbnails [Bug]

Hi, everybody,
I have a little problem with the thumbnails in the browser. I have a lot of pictures in a folder (jpeg). But only about three quarters of them are shown as thumbnails. The other ones have the icon of the graphic software. Is there something wrong with XnView or do I have to change an option?
Thanks for answering.

Which system?

On Windows ME, here, XnView crashes (and Windows too, some minutes after) if I have a BIG directory (hundreds of images) and try to show it using thumbnails. I think it is a XnView bug related to usage of system resources.

I have the same problem on Win98.

If I select a directory with more than ± 1000 images the GDI resources are going downto 0%.

I think XnView tries to create a system resource for each "object" or image. This is impossible to work well, because system resources are limited to 64K of them. On Win9x/ME, this 64K is shared to all applications. In NT/2000/..., each application has its resource table.

Above I read somewhere at Internet. If anyone wants, I may look for the page.

I think XnView should not use system resources, but find some alternative.

Thanks for answering. It seems to be a bug of xnview cause other user have the same problem (By the way: I have Win 98SE). So we have to live with it . Maybe it helps to store some pictures in another folder.
To all of You Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year.
