I can't find any information about it but, is there a way to reorganize the categories tree ?

Move some keywords that are created automatically under "other" to the root of the Categories tree for example ?

Not currently, an interesting feature i think!

this would not be needed if the copy Categories to/from IPTC was implemented.

Why not ?

XnViewMP does copy IPTC keywords to Categories, but stores them all under the category "other" and i want to reorganize/group them.
