Pierre, thank you for the previous bug fix of ; http://newsgroup.xnview.com/viewtopic.php?f=74&t=19665 , sorry to burden you with more bugs I have now discovered three more issues:

1) The icon snapshot 'size pix' text for '16' , '24' and '32' are displaying '48' next to it. This needs to be fixed, (The rest are fine: 256,64,48 - these text are ok) Please fix


2) No transparency display on tab preview of supported icon, please fix:


3) Icon Snapshot is not showing at 100% in suitable 'windowed' or even when in Fullscreen. I think this issue is much related to; http://newsgroup.xnview.com/viewtopic.php?f=62&t=19764

You could download these two multipage icons which I use for my above tests: (you must remove the '.zip' file extension to view)[/color][/i]

With this issue it means it's not using 16x16 RGB , please make all icons on tab preview always use RGB 16x16 (if available) with transparency

• Here (with a 32 BPP screen definition), the transparency is rendered on the tab BUT : With a multipage icon containing a 16² frame, MP resizes another page to 16² and displays it on the file-tab !
- I could notice this because I've a test icon in which the same pattern frames have different colours according to each size…

As of 0.30, Both these two reports still need fixing. For #1 is still a bug even when testing on .icns file; http://i51.tinypic.com/11ig4si.jpg and for report #2 it is related to tab preview not showing highest quality 16x16 which is usually rgb. Please fix.

Pierre, thanks for fixing problem #1 with the icon snapshot display-number.

Issue #2 is only half fixed and need a little more fixing. I think what you need to do on the tab is to show as best possible 16x16 that have 'RGB/A'

Look at these screencaps I took below. I have ringed around the icon preview on the tab that is incorrect as it is not showing an expected 16x16 RGB/A of icon. The 16x16 RGB/A has is the best sutiable quality for on tab and elsewhere. Please fix this remaing tiny issue in next beta:



On the other hand, the VMware icon seems to already support the 16x16 RGB/A on the tab, notice the smooter quality... perhaps because this particular was the only icon I sent you for you to use...

Still you must fix this little feature for ALL icon's that have 16x16 rgb quality and if not rgb then of course nearest at 16x16.

The 'recent files' menu on Vista is showing the correct 16x16 rgb .ico for this icon that I ringed but tab isn't;

I can send you, but there's no need. To fix this 16x16 tab issue all (I think) you need to do is make sure to use the same code you use on 'recent files' menu for correct 16x16 display on the tab.

The 'recent files' menu reads/displays the correct 16x16 rgb, so you can just 'copy' the same code you use;

Yes tab preview too should use the same 16x16 from system as 'recent files' does. In most cases it is the 16x16 rgb that the system chooses which would be the best visual on a tab preview.

If however there is no 16x16 rgb in the icon's page then the nearest/highest 16x16 quality possible.

But tab icon is not taken from the system, history icon comes from system

But for the next beta after 0.32, on the tab preview for (.ico , .icns and .rsrc), could you make a special rule so that it displays 16x16 rgb or hightest 16x16 page? It would look better presentable IMO - and then after that this topic would be resolved honest.

That is for both Snapshot mode and non-snapshot page viewing mode (using the highest 16x16 page on the tab) just as a special code/argument for icon files shown on tab

...Then after that this topic would be finally closed.
