MP 0.26 Win32: Nag screen when opening 16bit tiff files

Every time I open a 16bit tiff, following popup appears:

This picture will be converted to RGB with 8bits per component
[ ] Do not show this message again.
Ticking the box does not help. The message shows again every time I open a new photo... I only want to see photo
