help me with filter ->custom

Hi
can you help me to use filter-> custom ?
i did search in the guide and in the forum but did not find an answer
in the preferences file list -> i have 2 custom files (*)
in one i have
HTM HTML MHT MHTML XML XHTML EML NWS URL
in the second is empty
i added JPG , because i want to see only jpg
but the jpg disapeard
what's wrong?

in the original dialog there is not include and exclude

Those custom filters are really a bit confusing. Reason for "missing" labels is the setting of the checkboxes: If you uncheck all the checkboxes the filter will be an exclude, if you set all checkboxes, the filter is an include. So labelling as shown in Clo's dialog can be right or wrong.
Consider it just as two custom filter settings which can be used for including and excluding, and other for other filter porposes (depending on the checkbox).
