RC2 & 1.74: File index is misssing in status bar

If I go from Browser to Viewer, "File index" (#/##) is misssing for actual image in the status bar, if I go to next image it's OK.

e.g. 3/12 | Image.jpg | 1024x768 ...

XnView 1.80 <x>

It looks correct to me. Because, when you click on first image, would you want
to see 1/1? Also, you would always know what the first image is that you select.

It doesn't look correct to me (but it's not a major bug)
You double-click any thumb a folder, then must click Next then Back in the viewer to see its index.

I can confirm this bug, took me a little while though :)

caught this myself yesterday (my first day using xnview, actually). minor bug, but still quite annoying.

It's not a bug, when you open a picture i don't import full file list, so i don't know how many files are here. After Next/Previous, i know it
Very annoying?

No not very annoying, but if you could implement it easily and without degrading performance that would be nice =)

I've not added it for performance.

Performance = time? I see no delay if I switch from image without file index to image with it.

It's not very annoying, but if I switch from browser to viewer, often I'd like to see how many images are there...

So if it's easy to do/fix, could you do it please?
If not, never mind, add reply, rename to [OK?] and I'll move it to Solved... forum then.

It's not a big issue, I think. So if performance (=speed) is affected a lot when fixing this, this should not be fixed.

just curious, how much of a performance hit is there?

After some testing, I see no delay when "file index" is creating.

Tested with the 1st image (183 images in dir.), go from browser to viewer, press Home key, file index is created = no delay!

But if have 10000 images, and sort by date for example, there will be a delay...

For XnView 1.80 I think we just keep it they way it is now. Postponed.
