Print dialog window

Hello

In our association, we use XnView very often to print or do some small picture changes.

Unfortunatly, the print dialog window is a bit confusing regarding printer choice. Let me explain a little bit :-p :

We have 3 printers (laser, ink jet and PDF). When I choose a printer and click on "configuration" (French version), the next dialog window shows another printer (the PDF printer sometimes), so I have to change the printer again, which is a little weird.

Is it a "feature", an unknown bug, or is there any solution ?

Thanks a lot for this great software !

When you choose a printer in the print dialog box of XnView, you have never the good choice in the configuration dialog box?

I don`t understand the question. But the behaviour is exactly the same as described above - and it is enervating.
In all software I use ..
- I selected the printer
- press "Properties" to configure the selected printer.

XnView does not accept the commands "Chance printer - select new properties".

IMHO a kind of bug.

When I choose a printer in the xnview printer dialog, it is fien, but I always need to change printer configuration and on the next window (after clicking "configuration"), I have to choose again the printer since the selected one is not good. It's annoying and since my job is to get people at ease on a computer, it is frustrating to meet such strange behavior.

It's another little issue, but lose less rotation should be the default one in rotate buttons in the toolbar, but maybe it is not your point of view and I respect it don't worry ;-).

Thank you

Maybe it is a problem of "special characters" or "length of printer-names" or "network printers"?

I clicked around and found that local drivers with short names (Snagit 8, PDFCreator) works correct, but if I select a local printer with long name ("Microsoft XPS Document Writer") or a network-printer (\\server\name\blabla..) then the properties-button does not accept the new name and displays the setting of the standard-device.

I've tried with "Microsoft XPS Document Writer" and no problem :-(
Do you use the last version?

I don't know what exactly happens here, but (maybe) it depends on the sequence of changing the printers like
- "Change from local printer to local printer: OK"
- "Change from network to local: problem"
- "Change from long-string-local to network: problem"

Maybe something like this? I don't know ...

I use a local printer, a network printer and a PDF printer.

I manage 10 computers and all of them have the same problem. I suppose the correct behavior would be to have the same chosen printer in both windows ?

Thank you.
