Transparent Background for gif

Hello, I've never posted here. I've been using Xnview lightly for resizing images for my website. I'm not an experienced user. I tried searching the forums, and the answers all seem to in depth.

I need to make the white background transparent on a gif. I accidentally did it, I got into something that let me enable transparency and I selected white and it worked!! Then I somehow undid it and I can't find it again, I have looked and looked. I am using 1.96.1 Would anyone mind walking me throught the steps?

I really need help. Thanks so much in advance for any help! Aub

Thank you so much! He He, that was so easy it makes me not look very bright!! I do get a fuzzy white 'halo' around most of the image, is there something I can do about that or is it a complicated matter?

• I assume that the edges of the patterns have been soften when you had a plain background.
- You could try to make some copies into an empty folder, then to apply : Filter Menu >> … Effects… >> Sharpen
- No guarantee ! :P
