1.97.6: EXIF Image - User Comment display issue

I encounter probably same problem in version 1.97.6 as already discussed in topic "1.92: EXIF Image - User Comment display issue": XnView 1.97 is only displaying the first character of EXIF-Image-User Comment when enabling <User Comment> information getting displayed by pressing keyboard key "i" e.g. within fullscreen mode. This does always happen if EXIF UserComment tag ID 37510 contains one or more characters other than ASCII characters, e.g. Icelandic character "ð" or German umlauts "äöü". It seems as if UserComment's 8 bytes Character Code Designation field as described in Exif Version 2.2 document does not get interpreted but implicitly gets set to ASCII. While information displayed after pressing keyboard key "i" only shows first character of UserComment field, table Edit->Properties->Exif however shows UserComment string correctly.
I encountered same behaviour testing XnViewMP Version 0.26.1 beta.
Is it a bug or is it a feature? Am I doing something wrong?

Perfect. Almost. Thank you.
UNICODE EXIF user comments now show correctly.
But unfortunately EXIF user comments with 8 byte character code 0x4153434949000000 = "ASCII" showing correctly with version 1.97.6 no longer do with version 1.97.7. Pictures without EXIF user comments or with ASCII EXIF user comments now show arbitrary strings depending on prehistory and switching on information of such pictures sometimes even lets crash xnview.exe.

Issue solved. Version 1.97.8 shows ASCII
and UNICODE EXIF comments in information correctly.
