Is there a way of making all file suffixes (e.g.jpg) lower case by default?
I could change these by batch rename I guess but is there a setting related to this please.

Thanks

Paul

Thanks for the prompt reply
I could use Batch Rename (I have an awful lot of files in literally hundreds of folders) but I wondered if these was a setting to change how XnView interpreted and displayed the file type

XnView displays the filename and file extension exactly in the way it is stored in the file system. There's no setting for changing the way XnView displays the filename.

As Pierre has suggested, you can change the case of the file extension using batch rename. It's quite easy:

1. Select all files in the current folder (Ctrl + A)
2. Start batch rename (F2)
3. In dialog "Batch rename" deactivate all checkboxes except "Case". In the drop downlist "Case" you select "Extension: lowercase".
4. Execute the batch renaming using "Rename" button.
