Dear Pierre,
if possible, could you, please, add a hot key for showing EXIF information.
Ctrl+E opens only general info panel, and there's still need ot take the mouse and click on the EXIF pane. I think, using some of the F keys would be very convenient.
Thank you very much for the great thing!

You can use "Ctrl-e" (or alt-enter) and then press the right arrow to go to the exif tab. (No need for the mouse :))
I would find it useful if the properties window would remember the last open tab and show that the next time it is opened. This would solve this for you vitar, if you use the exif tab most of the time.

Think saving the last open tab of the "Properties" dialog is a good idea.

I wonder if file properties and image info can all fit on one panel.
Both panels seem to have alot of unused space.

I'd like to keep the contents of the two tabs separated. Currently, the File panel is pretty similar to the properties of MS Explorer and can be used even on non-image files.

Yes, they need to be seperate tabs. Not all loadable files are images, so the image tab is needed.

When using the upcoming v.1.8rc, is it recommended to keep the old xnview.ini settings file or let the program create a new one?

I agree, but I suggest to add the Name (and Size) also to the Image tab.

I had some problems with displaying of "Tabs", text in the submenu of "View as" and "Sort by" and some others in the XnView 1.80 beta with my old .ini file.

Thanks a lot for the tip! I was trying Tab or Ctrl+PgUp and Down as I have used to do it in Windows...

I also think that "Filename" should be on each tab page. This might not look that nice, but it's helpful, especially for those people who quickly open the properties and then immediately switch to EXIF tab.

Good to hear that this workaround works for you.
