XnView Software

Hi- I just hit this forum, when searching for a hint to solve my problem with XnView Version 1.97.6, Libformat 5.70, which I installed some weeks ago under WIN7 pro. I have been using older versions of XnView for many years.

When editing a file and later save it to another path ("save as"), older versions of XnView remembered the path for the next saving, unless changed. It does not do that any more and I cannot find a setting to adjust that.
Might that be not a problem of XnView, but of WIN7?

Any help?

I believe new versions have changed also (bug?). There is an item in ini called "PathSave=", but it was not used after restarting program (only in same session?).

This option bypassed it:
General>File Operations tab>[ ]For 'Save as', use same original pathname & format

Please try XnView 1.98 beta 1

This seems unchanged in beta 1. A number of settings have become 'per session' over the years (though I have never become accustomed to that style).

New setting below is working. However a problem remains: it is not remembered as being on after restarting program.
[x]For 'Save as', use original pathname the first time.

Could you try XnView 1.98 beta 2

New setting for recalling 'save as' path works perfectly with v.1.98b2
