RC3: EXIF and IPTC lost after Adobe Filter

1) BUG: When saving a JPEG with EXIF and IPTC information after applying an adobe filter, the EXIF and IPTC information gets stripped.

Sorry, I'm a little "late to the game" with these requests...

2) REQUEST: In the "Add Text..." dialogue box, it would be nice to be able to vary the width of the outline. Also, a simple dropshadow effect would be a nice option.

3) REQUEST: After selecting a region of an image, it would be nice if you could hold down Shift or Control while dragging a corner to retain the ratio of the selection.

4) REQUEST: Add a "Remove All Metadata" option to the "Metadata" menu choices. Sometimes I want to remove both IPTC and EXIF data...it's a minor pain to scroll through the same menu choices twice.

By the way, great program getting better!

Thanks,
Kory

Sorry to reply to my own post, but it looks like RC4 may be coming out soon... Can anyone else confirm or deny that EXIF/IPTC data is lost after, I assume, any Adobe filter is applied to an image?

I cannot confirm your first bug. I installed Adobe PDF IFilter 6.0 - http://www.adobe.com/support/downloads/ ... ftpID=2611 to test this.

Those other three requests will have to wait for XnView 1.81.

I'm not sure about PDF IFilter. Is this a stand-alone filter? That's not what I'm talking about, if it is. I'm talking about applying an Adobe Filter PLUG-IN from within the XnView program...

1) Download Harry's Filters (http://thepluginsite.com/products/download.htm)
2) Install filters to C:\Program Files\XnView\8bf\HarrysFilters
3) Open a JPEG image (that has EXIF and IPTC data) with XnView
4) Shortcut CTRL + G
5) Apply one of Harry's filters
6) Save image
7) Where did the EXIF and IPTC go? Gone.

I've followed the same steps with other plug-in filters with the same results. Yes, I've checked that "Keep EXIF data" and "Keep IPTC data" are set correctly for writing JPEG.

And what about requests?

kaptainkory, could you create new topic for each request please?

I could move this topic to "Solved" then...

I've started new threads for each of these requests. This thread can be moved to "Solved".

Thanks,
Kory
