Browsing Firefox's Cache Crashes XnView

1. In XnView, Browser Mode (Thumbnails mode)
2. Click on Favourite List -> Firefox Cache
3. Move through the files using the preview pane to see contents
4. Double-click on any file to open in View Mode
5. XnView crashes with a Dr Watson log file created.

I'm using Firefox 1.0.4, JAVA is OFF, Javascript is ON

It does NOT matter which file you try to open in View mode, anything viewable in the preview pane (non-hex) will crash XnView. Also, it does not seem to matter whether Firefox is open at the same time or closed, XnView still crashes.

I won't post the log here because you need the Courier font to view it properly, here's the header of it...

Application exception occurred:
App: (pid=756)
When: 5/27/2005 @ 12:43:13.630
Exception number: c0000005 (access violation)

I held back on posting this cause I have the feeling it might be a massive bug which needs to be left until XnView v2.xx comes along.

Disabling "Read one image ahead" in cache options seem to fix the problem. I'll play with some more options and see what I find.

No crash for me, but previous/next file do nothing (neither mouse wheel nor toolbar buttons)

Is it better if you uncheck "recognize only by exention" in options>browser>file list ?

Also, note you can browse the cache within Firefox itself, by typing about:cache in the address bar

Update:
XnView 1.80 Final crashes when trying to open a image into View mode with no extension in Firefox's cache. Again, only happens if "Read one image ahead" is enabled.

Update 2:
Browser mode, if I right-click on a image in the cache and choose "View in Fullscreen" there is no crash but the filename in the top left-hand corner has ASCII symbols instead of the filename!
