Import XMP data

Sorry if this has been covered elsewhere, but I did try searching and didn't find the answer
I was using ver 0.26 and entered a lot of data including categories and photos
I have installed 0.31 and then 0.32 and realised there is no "import" of existing data
After reading the forums it seems that you can save the category and other info to an "XMP" record in the actual image file
I have now done that in 0.26
In 0.32 I have set the Metadata settings to : "Import XMP subject or IPTC keyword to DB categories"
I thought that this would import the relevant categories for a given image when I click on it in folder view, however this isn't happening.
Can someone point me in the right direction on how to import the category info from my images
Thanks heaps

So you have XMP category in your files, and you would like to import them in 0.32, right?

I was interesting by this option too.
At this moment, when i need to do that, i'm showing all picture via 'view recursif '
--> but it can be very very long and memory problem to do that if you have big collection (for me > 30K images)

Why? even with 'whole folder' setting uncheck?

.....XX.... lr:hierarchicalSubject =
......X...X lr:hierarchicalSubject[1] = Photographies
......X...X lr:hierarchicalSubject[2] = Photographies|Lieu
......X...X lr:hierarchicalSubject[3] = Photographies|Famille
......X...X lr:hierarchicalSubject[4] = Photographies|Famille|Léo
......X...X lr:hierarchicalSubject[5] = Photographies|Lieu|Jordanie
Or si je clique dans "catégoriées", j'ai :
Other
|-->Photographies
|-->Lieu
|-->Jordanie
|-->Famille
...
Ils sont tous au même niveau et dans other en plus ...
2) "Léo" c'est transforme en "Lo" dans les catégories :
BrowserWindow :: updateMenu()
CategoryNode::CategoryNode : 0x99e9c70 Catgories
CategoryNode::CategoryNode : 0x9d43020 Other
CategoryNode::add : 0x9d43020 to 0x99e9c70
CategoryNode::CategoryNode : 0x9762e38 Amis
CategoryNode::add : 0x9762e38 to 0x9d43020
CategoryNode::CategoryNode : 0x9cb6688 Famille
CategoryNode::add : 0x9cb6688 to 0x9d43020
CategoryNode::CategoryNode : 0x97a5020 Jordanie
CategoryNode::add : 0x97a5020 to 0x9d43020
CategoryNode::CategoryNode : 0x9c56380 Lieu
CategoryNode::add : 0x9c56380 to 0x9d43020
CategoryNode::CategoryNode : 0x9d0e8f8 Lo
CategoryNode::add : 0x9d0e8f8 to 0x9d43020
CategoryNode::CategoryNode : 0x9c33850 Panoramique
CategoryNode::add : 0x9c33850 to 0x9d43020
CategoryNode::CategoryNode : 0x9772a78 Photographies
CategoryNode::add : 0x9772a78 to 0x9d43020
CategoryNode::CategoryNode : 0x9873188 Roumano
CategoryNode::add : 0x9873188 to 0x9d43020

Yes that is correct
If you could let me know how to do it that would be great
Also from what I can read of what Roumano has written, he can import the XMP data but the categories are all on one level. I have subcategories so am hoping these can import into the correct levels of category
Thanks so much for such a great product

Pourriez vous m'envoyer un exemple?

Vous pouvez desactiver option/Thumbnail>For whole folder

Yes I do have that setting, but the XMP is not imported
All I do is go to the folder and click on my image. Is this enough to make the XMP import or do I have to do something else with the image?
Thanks very much for your help
