could you make a hotkey of shift-delete, bypassing the recycle bin? this is a very handy shortcut used in windows explorer as well as many other file managers and image viewers. it's pretty standard on the windows platform.

It already exists!
Select a file and press Shift and DEL.

yes, but it does NOT
bypass
the recycle bin !
the delete file is send to the bin (just as pressing delete), but not directly delete from the hard disk.[/u]

Hmm, you're right.
I can't believe I didn't notice this before, I'm too used to it working perfectly in xplorer2 lite I guess.

You can in the Options > General , disable the option "Delete to recicle bin", and activate te option to "Confirm file delete".

Read again. That's not what he wants. Your suggestion would delete all files completely everytime. He wants to be able to choose for each file individually if it's going to be moved to the trashcan or deleted permanently.

Yes currently SHIFT+delete don't ask you, but move the file in recycle bin.
Without recycle bin is really dangerous, but for power users....????
Definitely

Hi again!
- I use
Shift+Del daily in Total Commander to delete files directly and definitely, and I couldn't notice a lot of disasters for years I work as is…

yes, for power users. shift-delete should ask you "do you want to delete the file permanently?" just like in explorer.

Shift + del works for me. Where do you use it?

i use it in view/edit (the mode i spend probably 90% of my xnview time in). just tried in browse and it works there. delete works in view/edit though, so why not shift-delete?

(It works in the browser, therefore moved to "Solved" forum...)
Add it also to view/edit mode is a good idea, maybe even a minor bug...
