For example, I had three photos b,c,d in a folder. I opened and cropped c.jpg in view mode, saved it as a.jpg. Then I saw the cropped image, but the title was still c.jpg, and when I clicked next button I saw d.jpg instead of b.jpg. More weird, at this moment if you clicked previous button you would see the cropped image titled c.jpg, but in fact it was a.jpg that was cropped.

i think in current stage there are many functions to be implemented in view mode. I particularly look forward to see a gthumb-like property sidebar in xnview, or anything else to show me the exif of a image. Thank you!
