Removing only GPS data from JPG

Hi all,
I've searched the forums, but "gps" is too short a string in my search entry to get any hits ["remove" and "delete" work, but there's tons of entries with those keywords in them, and without "gps" getting counted, it has proven quite hard to find out if this was previously asked].
Using both the latest beta for Mac OSX and 1.97.8 for Windows, I'm trying to get XnView to allow me to remove only GPS data from a jpeg. I want to preserve all other EXIF and IPTC data; it is just the GPS coordinates I wish to remove. Is there a way to do this with XnView? If not, does anyone know of another program that could do this [i also run a linux box, so it can be mac/windows/linux]. I've discovered ways to remove the GPS data [by converting the file into a PNG and then back to a JPG], but this also removes IPTC and EXIF data that I need associated with the photo.
Any tips would be most appreciated! Thanks!

Do you know of any utility [can be command line only] that would do this?
