1. In xplorer2 (or file manager)
2. Double-click on a file
3. Xnview opens the file in View mode
4. Press Shift and DEL to delete the file
5. Switch to Browser mode and the file is still there!

Shift+Del does nothing at all for me - regardless how I got into View mode. Do I have to activate an option first?

No you don't need activate any options.
Shift and DEL should permanently delete the file that is open. Currently, this only works in Browser mode.

O.k., I thought it would work in View mode, already, and only not work in your special scenario.

Not fixed in RC5!

File is deleted completely when use Delete without Shift!

Moved back to "New/Open"

Confirmed. Tested with DEL key / Delete in context menu - in browser / viewer and with Shift+DEL key / Shift+Delete in context menu - in browser / viewer.
